TROOP 266 LEADERSHIP HISTORY

Senior Patrol 1/1/2008

Boy Scout Troop 266 was chartered to the Windham Men's Club on May 1, 1949. The Windham Men's Club remained the Troop's sponsor until 1956 when the Windham Parent Teachers Organization accepted that responsibility. They remain the sponsor today.

The Troop originally met on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM in the Windham Town Hall. Mr. Leo Root was the first Scoutmaster. The Troop had two Assistant Scoutmasters and nine Scouts. The first members of the Troop were 13 years old (4), 15 years old (2) and 16 years old (3). By the end of the first year membership had grown to 30.

The Troop now meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM in Windham Center School.
